Charles D. "Skip" Newcomer

Charles D.

Charles D. "Skip" Newcomer, Jr., 68, of Wrightsville, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Lebanon VA Hospice Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles D. Sr. and Shirley Walkup Newcomer.

After serving in the U.S Army during the Vietnam Era, he was a self-employed landscaper for over 35 years. Skip retired from the Donsco Corporation where he worked as a draftsman.

Skip was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Columbia and enjoyed being a part of the "Peanut Butter Club." An avid outdoorsman, he belonged to the York County Hiking Club. In his early years, he was active in the Boy Scout Troop #26, Wrightsville.

Skip is survived by his sons, Alex Baldowski and his wife Megan, Havre De Grace, MD; Andrew Newcomer and his wife Amanda, Lancaster; grandson, Benjamin Baldowski; brothers, Stephen Newcomer and his wife Virginia, Landisville and Donald Newcomer and his wife Adele, Manheim.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial from Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry St., Columbia, PA 17512 on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen M. Kelley, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery with military honors. There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Skip's memory may be made to the York County Hiking Club at www.yorkhikingclub.com. Arrangements by the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc.
