Michael Winslow Cannon, 64, of Columbia went to be with his Lord and
Savior on November 9, 2017. He was born in Columbia to the late William
Gardner and Anne Reese Cannon, and was a lifelong resident of this area.
Michael was an avid fisherman and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers,
Penn State Nittany Lions, and the Los Angeles Lakers. He was a man of
God and was a member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church of Columbia. Michael
was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, whose sense of humor
and caring heart will be deeply missed by his adoring family.
leaves behind his wife of thirty five years, Renee Cannon of Columbia;
his children, Jason Newcomer, husband of Michelle Newcomer of Lancaster,
Tamika Meredith of York, Tanisha Cannon, companion of Jeremy Procise of
Columbia; eight grandchildren; five siblings, Jochebeth Farley, Terrie
Edmond, Deborah Cannon, Alex Joel Farley, companion of Jane Saxinger,
Jeffrey Cannon, companion of Betsy Finger, all of Columbia; Several
nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Kevin, Charles,
Larry, Melvin, Gardner, Walter, Anthony, and Linda.
celebration of Michael's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday,
November 16, 2017 at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 297 S. 5th St.,
Columbia, PA 17512. Pastor Patricia S. McAllister will officiate. The
family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until
service time. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorial flowers will be accepted. Arrangements by the Clyde W. Kraft
