Walter J Nace
Walter J. "Butch" Nace, 69, passed away at York Hospital on November 28,
2017. He was born in Columbia to the late Frederick J. and Mary Jane
Dinsmore Nace. He was a graduate of Eastern High School with the Class
of 1966 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He later worked for and retired from Johnson Controls. Butch was active
in and president of Chapter Y. of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club.
He was also a member of the American Legion Post 469 and V.F.W.
Post 7045. He was a lifetime member of the Susquehanna Fish and Game
Club and the Wrightsville Social Club. Butch was an avid hunter and
member of the Untouchables Hunting Camp of Potter County. He also
enjoyed visiting the beaches of DE and watching the Oakland Raiders and
New York Yankees. Butch was a loving husband, father, and grandfather
who adored his family.
Butch leaves behind his wife, Teresa Weaver
Nace of Wrightsville; his son, Walter J. "Wally" Nace, II, husband of
Christine Barnhart Nace of Lehigh Acres, FL; stepson, Jason, husband of
Renee Lavetan of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Owen and Emma Lavetan of
Red Lion; canine and feline companions, Buddy and Phoebe; many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma
Services for Butch will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
December 2, 2017 at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, 519 Walnut St.,
Columbia, PA 17512. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
until service time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to
