Jay P Lockard, Sr.

Jay P. "Pete" Lockard Sr., 88 of 1585 Hickory Run Ct., Elizabethtown, PA died unexpectedly at his residence on January 1, 2018. He was the husband of Janet Lockard and the late Joan E. Lockard who preceded him in death in 1997. Born in Columbia, PA he was the son of the late Thomas S. and Bertha Jewell Lockard. Jay retired as a self-employed Computer Consultant. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Neffsville where he served as Church Treasurer and Usher. He was a member of the Boys Scouts of America for over 60 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War having served with the Battery C 899th AAA AW Battalion, 28th Infantry Division. He was Graduate of Columbia High School Class of 1947.

Surviving besides his wife is a Son: Jay P., Jr. husband of Linda Dowlin Lockard of Ephrata, PA and Daughters: Mary Jo wife of Douglas J. Herr of Schaefferstown, PA and Julie W. wife of Mark J. Tracy of Atlanta, GA, 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren. Also surviving is a Step-Son: David B. husband of Linda Hollinger of St. Thomas, PA and a Step-Daughter: Diane wife of Dewey Wolfe of Mt. Joy, PA, and a Brother: William husband of Ellen Lockard of Poulsbo, WA. He was preceded in death by Brothers: T. Swift Lockard and Edgar Lockard.

A Celebration of Jay's Life will be held from the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, PA on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00AM with Rev. Craig Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville, PA with Full Military Honors by Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard and the VET 21 Gun Salute. There will be no public viewing, however the family will receive friends from 10:00AM 11:00AM. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions in Jay's memory may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lititz Pike and Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA 17603.
