Patricia Lee "Gerfin" Sprout

Patricia Lee "Gerfin" Sprout, 76, of Columbia went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her adoring family on May 8th, 2018. She was born in Columbia and was the daughter of the late Pearl R. Gerfin Heineman and step-daughter of Samuel Heineman. Patricia was a lifelong resident of Columbia and a graduate of Columbia High School with the Class of 1959. She worked at the former Heineman's department store in Columbia before pursuing a career at the Lancaster County Courthouse.  Although she began employment with Voter Registration, Patricia retired serving as a deputy in the Prothonotary Office. She also volunteered as a Cherry Red Lady at the former Columbia Hospital. Patricia was a lifelong active member of Columbia United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many activities, including Hooks and Needles and the annual Secret Santa sale.

Patricia Leaves behind her daughters, Pattilyn Sprout and Amy Rose both of Columbia; three grandchildren, Kenneth Allen Wagner, Kyle Thomas Wagner, Meredith Lynnlee, wife of Todd Lightcap, Jr. all of Columbia; her great grandson, Easton Michael Lightcap of Columbia; one brother, Charles "Rich" Gerfin, III of Columbia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Morris Sprout in 2015; four brothers, Ronald Gerfin, Michael Gerfin, Barry Gerfin, Tommy Gerfin.

Services for Patricia will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 14th, 2018 at Columbia United Methodist Church, 510 Walnut St., Columbia, PA 17512. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. She will be buried with her late husband at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Columbia United Methodist Church, 510 Walnut St., Columbia, PA 17512 or Moravian Center Adult Day, 227 N.
